We address the hunger and food insecurity for children who are not only at a critical developmental stage but cannot access school-based free meal programs.
Each week, we deliver approximately 200 healthy meals to metro Atlanta hungriest school aged children. When school is out, every child up to age 18 in these homes also receives a healthy meal. This summer we project to deliver up to 500 meals per day. Our goal is to ensure that every child gets the food they need to grow up healthy, happy and strong.
To do that successfully, we must understand the strengths and the needs of the communities we serve. We must also understand the root causes of childhood hunger - some families face more challenges than others, especially Black and Latino families.
